Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos says losing the Club World Cup trophy does not erase what they achieved this season.

The 31-year-old was ever-present in the squad throughout the competition with six appearances.

The French side fell short of clinching the title at the final hurdle when they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Marquinhos guided his team to four trophies this past season after winning the Champions League, Ligue 1 title, Trophée des Champions trophy and the Coupe de France.
The Brazilian says that losing the Club World Cup final does not take away what they achieved this season.
“It’s not just when you win that you do a good job,” Marquinhos said.
“What we did this season was something we’d never done before. Thirteen years ago in Paris, I’d never competed for titles like this.
“Of course, we wanted to take this trophy home, but that doesn’t erase what we did this season.”
