Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane says his players are relishing the opportunity to test themselves against one of Africa’s biggest footballing nations when they face Egypt on Sunday.

South Africa are set to take on the Pharaohs in an international friendly when they square off at the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo.

Bafana will come into this fixture high in confidence after their 5-0 hammering of Eritrea in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Group B qualifier last Wednesday.

Mosimane says the clash presents an ideal opportunity for the squad to test their progress and show what they are capable of on a big stage.

“Egypt is one of the biggest teams in Africa and as a player you always want to play the best teams, you always want to challenge yourself.

“So I think the feeling within the team is of excitement, and we are very, very excited to play against them, test ourselves and also basically show what we are about. I think all the guys are really excited.”
