Arsenal succumbed to their third consecutive loss in as many games as Brighton and Hove Albion ran out 2-1 victors in their Premier League affair on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors were the quickest out of the starting blocks and came close to opening the lead through Alex Iwobi in the fourth minute; however, the midfielder’s effort was blocked.

Arsenal were punished for their wastefulness three minutes later when Lewis Dunk got on to the end of Shane Duffy’s ball into the area, before rifling home.

The goal lifted the home side’s spirits as they began to dominate the affair in the way of chances.

Glenn Murray doubled his side’s lead in the 26th minute when he headed home Pascal Grob’s cross.

Arsenal struggled to impose themselves on Brighton’s defence; however, they did reduce the deficit moments before the half-time break as Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng netted Granit Xhaka’s assist.

Despite creating a number of opportunities, Wenger’s side were unable to claw themselves back in the game, with the result leaving them in sixth spot with 45 points garnered from their 29 allotted matches.
