Manchester United booked their place in the next round of the Europa League following their 4-0 aggregate victory over Saint-Etienne.

The Red Devils got off to a bright start and took the lead in the 16th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan put the ball into the back of the net from a Juan Mata cross to make it 1-0.

However, United were a major dealt a blow in the 25th minutes when Mkhitaryan was forced with an injury and had to be replaced by Marcus Rashford.

With 10 minutes left in the first half, United goalkeeper Sergio Romero came to his side’s rescue after he produced a fine save to deny Loic Perrin’s glancing header.

However, United were then reduced to 10 men in the 62nd minute when Eric Bailly was given a red card after picking up a second yellow card.

The Ligue 1 side St Etienne struggled to break down the Red Devils defence in the closing stages and were often restricted to shots from distance.

however, Jose Mourinho’s side held on to their 1-0 lead until the final whistle, as they claimed a 4-0 aggregate win to advance to the Last 16 of the European competition.
