Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has acknowledged the immense responsibility that comes with leading one of the biggest clubs in South Africa.
The Frenchman joined Amakhosi after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract, with the option to extend his stay for another year.
The 53-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached Lille, Mouscron, AS FAR Rabat and was previously assistant manager at Chiefs
Da Cruz has now been appointed as the club’s new head coach and is the successor to Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze.
Da Cruz insists his priority is to repay the unwavering support of the Amakhosi faithful by making a strong start to the season and challenging for silverware.
“I know I am working for the biggest Club in the country, one with a lot of fans all over Africa, not just South Africa.
“I want us to start the season well to give our millions of fans a good feeling, because they deserve it, and have a good season and challenge for titles.”
