The Chiefs defeated the Bulls 26-14 in the semi-finals of the Brisbane Tens, before beating the Crusaders 12-5 in the final.

The Bulls beat the Chiefs 28-7 in their pre-season friendly on Thursday, but the Chiefs held the upper hand throughout this 10-man-a-side rematch.

A penalty try and scores by Shaun Stevenson and Solomon Alaimalo saw the Chiefs open up a 21-0 lead at the interval.

There was a mini-comeback for the Bulls when Riaan Warner grabbed a brace of tries, but their hopes were dashed when Alaimalo completed his double to wrap up the win for the Chiefs.

In the other semi-final, the Crusaders overcame the Hurricanes 17-7. Jordie Barrett scored a self-converted try for the Canes, but tries by Quinten Strange and Mitchell Hunt were enough to secure victory for the Saders.

The men from Christchurch opened the scoring in the final with a try to Andrew Makalio, but the Chiefs hit back through Luke Jacobson to lead 7-5 at the break.

Taleni Seu made it 12-5 with a 14th-minute try and that’s the way it stayed.
