Platinum Stars striker Benson Shilongo believes his side has what it takes to overturn their current form after their slow start this season.

Dikwena are currently placed 14th on the Absa Premiership standing with nine points after winning just two of their 11 matches played this season.

The 24-year-old admits that his side lack the same confidence they shown last season but has urged his teammates to keep fighting to turn around their season.

‘We need to stamp our authority. We need to man up. We have the quality and the finesse but probably we just lack the confidence. We will get there. We just have to keep on pushing,’ Shilongo told the Platinum Stars website.

‘We have a bunch of talented lads so we just need to get together and start winning games.’

The Namibian international believes Dikwena have to fight hard to get points and start winning the matches at home.

‘When we are playing home, we need to stamp our authority. We need to start winning our home games. It starts from home and going out,’ he added.

‘We need to regroup and keep our heads high. It’s only us who can change things. There’s nobody who can help us. We have to keep soldering on till we get the right combinations. There’s always a chance. It’s never over until the first lady sings. There’s always an opportunity to get into the game’.

Platinum Stars will next take on Cape Town City in the Absa Premiership on December 13.

The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
