Orlando Pirates are considering a move for Mamelodi Sundowns defender Wayne Arendse, a report has claimed.

Bucs are in the midst of a reshuffle of their squad following the takeover of experienced Turkish coach Muhsin Ertugral at the club.

Ertugral, who has been tasked with revitalising the side following a poor 2015-16 season, has already transfer listed the likes of  Sifiso Myeni, Lehlohonolo Mahoro and Felipe Ovono, while veteran defender Rooi Mahamutsa’s future is also in question.

Now, is it believed the coach is keen on Arendse as a replacement, reports KickOff.

Ertugral is well aware of Arendse’s capabilities having managed the star early in his career. The player, meanwhile, would be free to sign a pre-contract with the club from January as he has just a year remaining on his current deal.

Arendse has become a fixture for the Sundowns team of late as the side have lost just twice in domestic competition since he cemented a starting spot.

Arendse made 27 appearances for Sundowns in the Premiership last term.
