Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso was pleased with his side’s strong start and their response after losing some momentum during the match.

The Brazilians returned to winning ways in the Betway Premiership after claiming a 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants.

Goals from Malibongwe Khoza and Cassius Mailula saw Sundowns walk away with the win and all three points at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

The Portuguese tactician highlighted the positive impact of the changes and the squad’s ability to regain control in the second half.

“Yeah, I think after 25 minutes that we played very, very well because of the start was very good,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV after the game.

“We lost a bit of a cushion in the team, but it’s normal if you look a lot of these team some still need to develop to manage moments but I think we did well. We did very well the way we came back on the second half.

“Then, when we bring new players the team got a lot of ability and capacity to get the ball, there’s very positives and negative.”
