Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso did not hold back after their 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs, expressing anger at the referee after one of his players was hospitalised.
The Brazilians missed the opportunity to restore their five-point lead at the top of the Betway Premiership after playing to a draw against Amakhosi at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Flavio Silva broke the deadlock for Chiefs in the 25th minute but Brayan Leon levelled matters in the 54th minute as both sides shared the spoils.
Cardoso was forced into making a substitution in the 15th minute when Keanu Cupido was stretchered off the field following a dangerous tackle by Siphesihle Ndlovu, who was lucky to only receive a yellow card.
“It’s quite difficult to comment because many should’ve, could’ve be said but I need to take a better look on TV, what is clear is that… let’s just think about what happened in Pirates match against Chiefs to be again two broken shoulders,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV after the match.
“It was a fight that referee has an obligation to control, this is not the football we want for sure to be played officiated. I don’t want to comment much more really.
“I think the beginning of the match first 20 minutes just a fight kicking, looking for the players, man and kicking, kicking, second match.
“Referees need to prepare themselves, make the homework so that they know what they come for and they come for and they can control the game.
“Because now we have players in the hospital, shoulders broken, arms broken, c’mon who will control this? Control the match in a proper way!”
