Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams says he knows what’s at stake when his team takes on Zimbabwe in their next World Cup qualifier.

South Africa and Zimbabwe are set to go head-to-head in their penultimate World Cup qualifier when they meet at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday evening.

Hugo Broos’ side comes into this match in second place in the Group C standings, with 14 points from eight matches played.

Williams hopes his side can achieve a positive result in their next two encounters to ensure their qualification for the World Cup.

“We know what is at stake. This is the business end of the qualifiers, but nothing has changed and we need to be the same team we have been for the last two or three years.

“We have been growing, and we have been so good, but we need to finish it on a positive note.

“We have set ourselves high standards. When we started the World Cup campaign, we said we wanted to qualify and it is close now.”
