Liverpool began their Premier League title defence with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield.

Liverpool begin their Premier League title defence with a 4-2 win against Bournemouth at Anfield on a night dedicated to former player Diogo Jota.

The Reds opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Hugo Ekitike scored a goal on his debut before Cody Gakpo doubled their lead 12 minutes later.

Antoine Semenyo brought the Cherries back into the game after he bagged a brace to make it 2-2.

However, late goals from Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah saw Liverpool walk away with a 4-2 win on the opening day of the Premier League.
