Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came off the bench to score a vital goal for the Reds, 20 years ago today since he first did exactly that on his club debut.

On August 25, 1996, the Norwegian was introduced to the Old Trafford faithful, coming on as a 61st-minute substitute for David May as the Reds trailed Blackburn Rovers2-1.

However, it took the striker just eight minutes to make his mark, firing home an equaliser and it would be the first of 126 goals for United across an 11-year career at the club.

To mark the 20-year anniversary of his bow, the video takes you back to that day in August 1996 and  Solskjaer’s debut strike, reports the Manchester United website.

In the video, Solskjaer discusses the finish and celebrating with Eric Cantona.
