Tom Dumoulin beat Chris Froome by just one second to win the 20th stage of the Tour de France on Saturday, while Geraint Thomas kept the yellow jersey.

Dumoulin, the world time trial champion, secured second place in the Tour by winning the 31-kilometre individual time trial, while Froome overhauled Primoz Roglic to finish third.

With tradition dictating that the yellow jersey is not attacked during the final stage into Paris, Thomas will become the third British winner of the Tour de France in seven years after Sir Bradley Wiggins and Froome, and the first Welshman.

It is Team Sky’s sixth title in seven years.
