Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi admits that their defeat to Orlando Pirates is due to “individual mistakes”.
The Glamour Boys suffered a 2-1 defeat to Soweto rivals Pirates when the two sides met at the FNB Stadium over the weekend.
Makabi Lilepo opened the scoring for Amakhosi in the second minute but goals from Evidence Makgopa and Relebohile Mofokeng saw Pirates complete their comeback and claim bragging rights in the Soweto derby.
Amakhosi remains in eighth place in the Betway Premiership standings with 31 points, having won eight, drawn seven and suffered 12 defeats in 27 matches.
The Tunisian tactician believes they should have been awarded a penalty after they took an early lead in the derby.
“I don’t think it’s a psychological thing,” Nabi told SuperSport TV after the game.
“When we were leading 1-0 there was a clear penalty. If we get the penalty the game is going to be completely different.
“It was individual mistakes that gave the opportunity to the opponent. We feel today we gave the victory to the opponent.”
Amakhosi will now take on the same opponents when the two side’s meet in the Nedbank Cup final scheduled to be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on May 10.
