Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker says he draws inspiration from Spanish giants Real Madrid as well as Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Glamour Boys currently hold a four-point lead over Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the Absa Premiership standings with 48 points from 22 matches played so far this season.
With eight games still to play, Parker is inspired by Ronaldoโs leadership and winning mentality and urges his teammates to continue their momentum as they aim to end their trophy drought.
โItโs also noteworthy to see that especially the top sides, who have the best players, seem to perform the best,โ Parker told Kaizer Chiefsโ official website.
โThat says a lot about their mental approach to the game. Look at Real Madrid, who have really been doing great since the restart, thanks to the playersโ mental strength.
โItโs nice to see how he [Ronaldo] takes his leadership role seriously. Ronaldo has that winning mentality and it rubs off on his teammates. Itโs a lesson for us as well. To be able keep our momentum, we need to be strong mentally. Thatโs going to be crucial when the league resumes.โ
