Giroud completes Gunners comeback

Olivier Giroud scored at the death to ensure Arsenal a place in the FA Cupโ€™s fourth round after a come from behind win at Preston on Saturday.

Callum Robinson gave the hosts the perfect start in the seventh minute and a huge upset seemed on the cards as Preston went into the break one goal to the good. It couldโ€™ve been much worse for the travelling fans but the home side spurned three excellent chances to double their advantage as Arsenal struggled to gain a foothold in the encounter.

The Gunners had never lost a third round tie in the FA Cup under Arsene Wenger and made sure that proud sequence continued as Aaron Ramsey equalised shortly into the second half.

Both sideโ€™s had a goal correctly disallowed before Giroud finished smartly from a Lucas Perez backheel to book Arsenalโ€™s place in the next round.
