Orlando Pirates interim coach Mandla Ncikazi has questioned the “robust” tactics TS Galaxy deployed to target Relebohile Mofokeng.
Mofokeng has been one of the best players in the Betway Premiership this season and a key figure for Pirates, having scored five goals and registered seven assists in 24 league appearances.
The 20-year-old’s efforts for Pirates put him in strong contention for the Young Player of the Year award and the Footballer of the Season award this season.
Ncikazi has voiced his opinion on the opponents’ attitude and behaviour towards Mofokeng during their 1-1 draw against the Rockets.
“I thought it’s the plan of the opponents when you have ball-players like you have in our team you can see that the target was Mofokeng that’s the one, but the bad part for me where opponents are not playing the game but they go for robust tactics to try and deal with such a good player Mofokeng,” Ncikazi told SuperSport TV.
“But it’s ok we move forward, we have learnt, the young players have learnt. I hope it continues and then we grow our team. I think we’re the youngest team currently in the PSL so we go on again.”
