Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says his side are in a “positive frame of mind” ahead of their Soweto derby encounter against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys are set for a mouth-watering clash against their Soweto rivals when the two sides meet at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Amakhosi come into this fixture looking to bounce back following their 2-1 defeat to Marumo Gallants at the FNB Stadium in the last Betway Premiership encounter.

The Soweto giants currently sit in eighth place on the table, having won eight, drawn seven and suffered 11 defeats in 26 matches with 31 points.

Nabi insists they have put the defeat to Gallants behind him and that they are fully focused on their upcoming encounter against Pirates as they look for a positive result.

“Notwithstanding that result, we believe we will be ready for what we are facing on Saturday,” Nabi told his club’s official website.

“Even though we are not in the position we want to be, we know what this fixture means and how important it is to win it.

“Great clubs may get ’ill’ but they never ‘die’, and we believe we are the biggest club in South Africa -probably at this time we might be a little bit ‘ill’ now but we are still alive and we believe we can still do something.”

The Tunisian tactician also touched on how their preparations have been going ahead of the derby.

“There is a different mood within the camp to what has been before,” he added.

“With two Derbies to play, including a Final, the team, the coaches, everybody is in a positive frame of mind because we know how big these games are and we are up for them.”
