Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze admits his side ‘were a little bit shaky in defence’ in their defeat to Richards Bay.
The Glamour Boys suffered their third consecutive defeat in the Betway Premiership following their 1-0 defeat to Richards Bay after conceding a 68th-minute goal by Thulani Gumede at the Richards Bay Stadium.
The defeat sees Amakhosi remain in fifth place in the Betway Premiership standings with 30 points after 18 matches.
Kaze admitted his side fell short in the opening half, pointing to defensive lapses and enforced changes at the back as decisive factors in the defeat.
“Personally, I was not happy with our first half, of course we thought we started well the game, we were in the game but unfortunately, we conceded a goal on a defensive mistake, I believe as well we were a little bit shaky in our defence,” Kaze told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Probably, the injury of Miguel during the warm-up and the suspension of Zitha you have to change the whole defence as well. I believe that mostly that cost us the game, we have to do better, we’ve to do better.
“The only thing is to go back to the training field and work very hard and hope we get our players from the defence that are injured and suspended.”
