Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef says his side promised to ‘give it their all’ in their victory over ZESCO United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Glamour Boys secured back-to-back victories over ZESCO United after claiming a 1-0 win thanks to a firs-half goal by Glody Lilepo at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

The win sees Amakhosi move up to second place in the Group D standings, level on seven points with leaders Al Masry SC.

Chiefs will be hoping to continue their momentum when they face Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 at the DHL Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.

“It’s not me, it’s the players. I think I have to say congratulations to the players we are always outside our house and in camp playing every two days a game,” Youssef told SABC Sport post-match.

“They promised before the game that they will give their all in their legs to win this game. I have to say congratulations to them, to the technical staff, more deserving fitness coach, doctor for the big work they are doing.

“I think it’s not easy to make to manage like that, you see how we finish the game, we were so tired but you know when God is here and you play to win this game, nothing can stop you.

“Congratulations to them, we are happy for the fans, team and I hope we continue the same.”
