Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their perfect start to the season after claiming their third straight win following their comfortable 4-0 victory over Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Brazilians continued their form during their title defence, having made it three wins from three league games thanks to a brace by Lesiba Nku and goals from Peter Shalulile and Grant Kekana.

As a result of their win, Sundowns remain at the top of the league standings with nine points from their first three games while Arrows are placed sixth with four points after three matches.

Sundowns broke the deadlock as early as the 17th minute when Peter Shalulile’s acrobatically volley from close range found the back of the net to make it 1-0.

The Brazilians doubled their lead in the 21st minute Lesiba Nku slotted the ball home with a clever flick after latching on to a low cross from Neo Maema.

The home side added a third goal in the 39th minute after Grant Kekana headed the ball home resulting from Marcelo Allende corner kick.

Sundowns put the game beyond Arrows in the 47th minute when Nku completed his brace after firing home Maema’s rebounded effort.

The Tshwane giants held on to their lead until the final whistle to walk away with the win and comfortably secure all three points.
