Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have avoided each other in the Nedbank Cup last-16 draw on Monday evening.

Amakhosi made their way into the last 16 after securing a 1-0 victory over Royal Eagles at the FNB Stadium on Saturday and will now take on Highlands Park in the next round.

Sundowns, meanwhile, booked their place in the round of 16 after defeating Tshwane rivals SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium over the weekend.

Pitso Mosimane’s side will now square off against giant-slayers Vaal University (VUT), who beat Golden Arrows on penalties.

Bidvest Wits, who beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 in a penalty shootout, will play host to Chippa United, while Bloemfontein Celtic will lock horns with Maritzburg United.

Mbombela United stunned Cape Town Cit to advance to the next round and will now take on Real King for a place in the quarter-finals.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is yet to release the dates, venues and kick-off times for the last-16 fixtures.
