Real Madrid have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has completed an astonishing transfer to Italian giants Juventus in a club record deal.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will join the Serie A champions in a deal worth €105-million (R1.65-billion) after he agreed to a four-year deal worth €30-million (R475-million) a season.

The deal saw Juventus break their record transfer fee, while Ronaldo has also become Real’s most expensive sale.

Madrid confirmed the transfer in a statement on Tuesday which read, ‘Real Madrid CF communicates that, in response to the will and request expressed by the player Cristiano Ronaldo, he has agreed to transfer to Juventus FC.

‘Today, Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has marked one of the brightest times in the history of our club and world football.

‘Beyond the conquered titles, the trophies achieved and the triumphs achieved in the playing fields during these nine years, Cristiano Ronaldo has been an example of dedication, work, responsibility, talent and improvement.

‘He has also become the top scorer in the history of Real Madrid with 451 goals in 438 games. In total 16 titles, including four European cups, three of them consecutive and four in the last five seasons. On an individual basis, with the Real Madrid jersey he has won four Gold Balls, two The Best, and three Gold Boots, among many other awards.

‘For Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of his great symbols and a unique reference for the next generations.

‘Real Madrid will always be your home,’ concluded the statement.

The former Manchester United man was said to be looking for a new challenge after growing unhappy when club president Florentino Perez broke his promise about offering him a new contract.

Ronaldo moved to Los Blancos after a highly successful time at United and after dominating in Spain and Europe with Madrid, he will now be looking to add Italian silverware to his collection, all while looking to help the Old Lady in their quest to end their search for European glory.

Ronaldo will be moving his brand to Italy and will wear the No 7 shirt at Juventus.
