Real Madrid has officially announced the signing of right back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool.

Los Blancos and the Reds have reached an agreement to sign Alexander-Arnold on a six-year contract, which keeps him at the club until 30 June 2031.

The 26-year-old came through the academy ranks at Liverpool and joined the Reds senior team in July 2016.

Alexander-Arnold went on to score 23 goals and registered 92 in 354 appearances across all competitions.

The England international won eight trophies at Liverpool, including two Premier League titles, a Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The Spanish giants have since released a statement confirming the capture of Alexander-Arnold.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool; 07/10/1998) has signed for Real Madrid. The 26-year-old England international joins from Liverpool, where he has spent his entire football career.”

“At the Premier League, he has been at the heart of a successful period, having just won the Premier League. In total, he has amassed nine trophies for the Anfield club: Champions League (1), Club World Cup (1), Uefa Super Cup (1), Premier League (2), FA Cup (1), League Cup (2), and Community Shield (1).

“Alexander-Arnold is a right-back who can also play in midfield, and came through the youth ranks at Liverpool. He joined the club at the age of six and made his first-team debut at the age of 18 in October 2016. It was the first of his 354 appearances for the English side, for which he scored 23 goals.

“He has plenty of international experience and has played in two Champions League finals as a starter. In 2018, he lost to Real Madrid in Kyiv and in 2019 he helped Liverpool beat Tottenham in the sixth European Cup in their history. He was also a central figure in the last two Premier Leagues won by the English side.

“Alexander-Arnold has been a full international since 2018 with England, playing in two World Cups (2018 and 2022) and one European Championship (2024).

“In the latter tournament, he finished runner-up after losing the final against Spain. He has been included once in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 (2020), twice in the UEFA Champions League team of the season (2018/19 and 2021/22) and three times in the Premier League dream team (2018/19, 2019/20 and 2021/22). He was also voted best young player of the 2019/20 Premier League.”
