Real Madrid survived a late scare to secure a 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund to book their place in the semi-final of the Club World Cup.
Los Blancos got off to a perfect start and opened the scoring in the 10th minute thanks to a goal from Gonzalo García before Fran García doubled their lead 10 minutes later.
Dortmund managed to pull a goal back in the second minute of added time before Kylian Mbappe restored his side’s lead two minutes later.
Real were reduced to 10-men in the 96th minute when Dean Huijsen received a red card, while at the other end Dortmund pulled a goal back in the 98th minute through Serhou Guirassy but it was not enough as the Spanish side held on for the win.
Real Madrid are now set to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final when the two sides meet at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
