Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways and proved too strong for Stellenbosch FC, while Orlando Pirates secured a narrow victory over Marumo Gallants in midweek action of the DStv Premiership.

Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 Stellenbosch FC

Mamelodi Sundowns bounced back and secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday evening.

Neo Maema opened the scoring for the Brazilians in the first minute, before Peter Shalulile doubled their lead five minutes before half time while Marcelo Allende rounded off the scoring with a goal on debut.

Orlando Pirates 1-0 Marumo Gallants FC

Orlando Pirates climbed to the top of the DStv Premiership table after they beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.

A second goal by Paeka Mako on his return for Pirates moved the Buccaneers a point clear of Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu and Royal AM after claiming all three points.

AmaZulu 0-1 Golden Arrows

Lamontville Golden Arrows claimed bragging rights in the KwaZulu-Natal derby after edging out AmaZulu FC 1-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday night.

As a result, Abafana Bes’thende recorded their first victory of the season, but remained in 15th in the league standings with five points from five matches.

Chippa United 0-0 TS Galaxy

Chippa United and TS Galaxy were forced to share the spoils after playing out to a goalless stalemate at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Royal AM walked away with the bragging rights in the KZN derby after they edged out Maritzburg United 1-0 at the Chatsworth Stadium in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday evening.

Sera Motebang’s 10th-minute goal proved to be the difference in Durban as Thwihli Thwahla moved up to fourth in the standings on 10 points, one behind league leaders Orlando Pirates.
