Bafana Bafana are set to take on Algeria in their African Nations Championship Group C opener at the Mandela National Stadium on Friday.
South Africa will come into this encounter being the only team that has not played a match in Group C as of yet.
Algeria, meanwhile, opened their CHAN account with a 3-0 victory over Uganda in their first match played at the Mandela National Stadium on Monday.
Molefi Ntseki’s side currently sit in third place on the log with no points, while Algeria are placed at the top of the table with three points from their first match.
“We are talking about an Algeria that comes from the northern part of Africa,” Bafana coach Molefe Ntseki said.
“They have got their own style, their own culture, and their own way of playing, which might be different from (Group C rivals) Uganda, Guinea and Niger.
“In our preparations, like I said, we did our technical prioritisation, looking into our opponents, looking into their strengths and their weaknesses.
“I think they have done the same, and they will be doing the same, as much as we are playing our first game tomorrow.
“I think they have done their homework, because they saw us play in the qualifiers against Egypt, home and away, and against Malawi, home and away.”
