Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has been appointed as the new head coach of Abha Club in Saudi Arabia.

Mosimane will be assisted by his technical team consisting of Maahier Davids, Kabelo Rangoaga, Musi Matlaba, Kyle Solomon, and Hamad Alyami for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

With 15 games remaining in the season, Mosimane will be fighting to avoid relegation as his side currently sit in 17th in the Roshn League.

“I am happy to be returning to Saudi Arabia with an exciting challenge awaiting. Abha Club has had a quick rise to the Saudi Pro League. Considering they were playing in the 3rd Division just four seasons ago,” said Mosimane.

“Now, as the club faces its toughest challenge yet. I am honoured that the Board has entrusted me with the task of keeping the team in the Pro League.”

Meanwhile, MT Sports Managing Director Moira Tihagale is delighted that Abha Club picked Mosimane following his recent success in Saudi Arabia.

“We are confident that our coaches will work hard to ensure that the “Leaders of the South” defend their place in the Pro League. Coach Pitso Mosimane and his team’s brand of excellence and deliverance of results will shine through,” added Tihagale.
