Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that South Africa will be without Teboho Mokoena and Aubrey Modiba for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Eritrea.

Mokoena and Modiba has been ruled out for their AFCON Group B qualifier against Eritrea at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo.

Modiba picked up an injury in the second half against Guinea and was forced off the field, while Mokoena finished the game with discomfort.

Mosimane has confirmed injury concerns for Mokoena and Modiba, with both players ruled out after scans revealed injuries.

“(Teboho) Mokoena was pulling that leg with a few minutes to go, and he gave us everything to finish the game,” said Mosimane.

“Aubrey (Modiba) is not available; Teboho is not available. They haven’t trained since we came. The doctor took them for scans, and the scans, in a nutshell, showed that they are injured, and we can’t use them.”
