Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is confident that Relebohile Mofokeng will be a key player in helping the club win the Betway Premiership title.

Mofokeng scored the winning goal that saw Pirates lift the Carling Knockout Cup following their 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants in the final.

The 21-year-old has scored one goal and registered three assists in 17 appearances across all competitions, while playing a key role in helping Pirates secure the MTN8 title and Carling Knockout Cup trophy.

Ouaddou has since stressed the importance of Mofokeng to the team and believes he will play a huge role in helping the Buccaneers win the league title.

“The president (Relebohile Mofokeng) is very important for us in our team,” said Ouaddou in the post-match press conference.

“I love him, I love his style of play. He’s a very good guy. Top human being, he’s someone who loves football, he dreams about football. I think 24 hours, he feels football.

“I cannot say much about his form in the beginning of the season. He played many games with the national team and didn’t have lot of time to rest. Even the season before he played 40 or 45 games, he’s not robot.

“I can understand that he was a bit tired, we gave him some rest, and he came back with a very good fitness. The last four games we played, he was part of our success.

“You can see a fit Rele Mofokeng and a Rele that is tired. If he’s 70% fit, he can help the team. I cannot imagine if he’s 100%. If he’s 100%, the president is someone who can make us win the title.”
