Just days after resigning from Orlando Pirates and citing personal problems as the reason, Milutin Sredojevic has been confirmed as the new head coach of Egyptian giants Zamalek.

It has since been reported that Sredojevic’s mother is battling breast cancer, which was affecting the Serbian tactician. However, media reports in Egypt claimed that the coach was set to join Zamalek.

The Serbian coach denied the reports, though, and slammed them as total nonsense stating that he was travelling to Serbia to visit his sick mother and that Zamalek would have to fork out millions for his services.

‘That report is total nonsense. I am travelling to see my mother who is sick in Serbia. And we shall see what will come after that. [Whether] I will come back to Africa,’ the Serbian told TimesLive.

‘But if he [Mansour] really wants me he needs to fork out millions.’

He added: ‘The moment [after] Pirates announced I have resigned [I travelled]. I am now in Istanbul flying to my country. That is total nonsense about the other guy [Mansour]. How is it mathematically possible to do the things in that way?

‘He has been begging me to come to his team and whatever. Maybe I will even go. But the point is I have not signed anything‚ I have not agreed anything.’

Micho was then spotted arriving in Cairo on Sunday where he was reportedly set to finalise a deal with the Egyptian giants.

However, the Serbian has now been confirmed as the new coach of Zamalek and has already changed his Twitter bio reflecting the move.

Pirates are yet to comment on the news.
