Former PSL Football of the Year Lebogang Manyama is a free agent after parting ways with Konyaspor less than a year after joining the club.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder moved to the Turkish Super Lig prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign on the back of an incredible season for Cape Town City, which saw him score 13 goals in 29 league appearances.

Manyama formed an integral part of the City outfit which finished third on the league table in addition to clinching the Telkom Knockout title.

After being awarded the league’s top goalscorer and best player across all competitions, Manyama bid farewell to South Africa as he clinched what was meant to be a dream move abroad.

Things, however, didn’t go according to plan for the former Ajax Cape Town star. Despite being handed the infamous number ten jersey, Manyama was limited to a handful of appearances in what can only be described as a nightmarish stay abroad.

The 27-year-old’s agent Maimane Phiri publicised details of Manyama’s exit from Konyaspor

‘They gave him the clearance [earlier this week]. We will decide on Monday what to do [next],’ he told Sunday World.

‘We are not sure if he’ll be back in the PSL, I don’t want to speculate,’ he added.

SuperSport United are said to have made an inquiry about his services, but negotiations reportedly hit a snag due to Manyama’s wage bill.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are also reportedly vying for the attacker’s services.
