Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart has broken his silence following his move to Bundesliga side SV Ried.

The 29-year-old spent three seasons at Amakhosi, where he scored seven goals and grabbed eight assists in 95 appearances across all competitions.

Maart has since parted ways with Amakhosi after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Austrian Bundesliga outfit.

The Cape Town-born midfielder is relishing the chance to experience playing European football for the first time.

“This is a great opportunity for me to play here in Europe,” said Maart.

“I’m really looking forward to gaining new experiences.

“I want to give my best in every game and be a great contributor to the team, both on and off the pitch.

“I know Austrian football to be highly intense and physical. Ried is known for the great atmosphere in the stadium and its fans.”
