Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has confirmed the appointment of goalkeeper Brandon Petersen as the team’s new captain.

Inacio Miguel and Zitha Kwinika were named as captains of the club after the departure of Yusuf Maart.

However, Petersen wore the captain’s armband during their goalless draw against Siwelele FC on Wednesday.

The Amakhosi mentor has since confirmed that the shot-stopper will be the club captain moving forward.

“We decided as technical staff to give Petersen as the captain going forward,” Kaze said.

Petersen has been ever-present in the Amakhosi squad and has kept seven clean sheets in 11 appearances across all competitions this season.
