Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of three new players ahead of the 2025-26 Betway Premiership season.

The Glamour Boys have strengthened their squad by acquiring the services of Flavio Silva, Ethan Chislett and Nkanyiso Shinga.

Flavio Silva joins the club from Indonesian outfit Persebaya and will now wear the No. 77 jersey at Chiefs.

The Portuguese striker brings a wealth of experience, having played for Torreense, Benfica B, SC Covilhã, San Antonio FC, União Madeira, Mafra, Alverca, Real SC, Amora FC, Mondercange, Persik and most recently Persebaya.

Over the course of his career, Silva has scored 56 goals and registered 18 assists in 194 appearances across all competitions.

Ethan Chislett arrives at Amakhosi as a free agent after parting ways with English side Port Vale.

The 26-year-old has experience playing for the likes of Met Police, Basingstoke, CF Reddis, Aldershot, AFC Wimbledon and Port Vale.

The South African midfielder has racked up 40 goals and 16 assists in 242 appearances across all competitions so far in his career.

Nkanyiso Shinga joined the Soweto giants from Portuguese outfit Alverca and will wear the No. 74 jersey at the club.

The 25-year-old has previously played for the likes of KZN Academy, Setúbal U19, Vitória FC U23, Pinhalnovense, Juv. Évora, Estrela U23, SC Covilhã, Estrela Amadora and Alverca.

The South African left back has registered two assists in 63 appearances across all competitions over the course of his career.

“Kaizer Chiefs will kick off the month of July by introducing three new players, with more signatures expected during this current window to strengthen their playing squad for the upcoming season,” Chiefs said in a statement.

“The technical team and management deemed it apt to strengthen the squad in different areas, from attack to defence, to ensure that the team is ready to tackle the challenging PSL season and the CAF Confederation Cup, kicking off in August.

“Starting in the frontline, Amakhosi have secured Portuguese striker Flavio Silva from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia. Silva, a prolific goal-scorer, netted nine goals in 33 matches last season and had an impressive 30 goals in 45 appearances for Persik Kediri the season prior. The Guinea Bissau-born player will wear jersey #77.

“In midfield, Amakhosi have enlisted 26-year-old Ethan Chislett, an attacking midfielder known for his creative abilities. The Durban-born playmaker joins the Club after spending most of his playing career in England, as well as a stint in Spain. He recently enjoyed a successful season with Port Vale, where he provided key assists and created numerous scoring opportunities.

“Moving to the backline, Chiefs have reached an agreement with Portuguese club FC Alverce to sign Nkanyiso Shinga. The talented left-back, also originally from Durban, is a versatile operator who can also play in midfield and attack. At 25 years old, Shinga returns to South Africa after seven years in Portugal to make his first appearance in the PSL. He will don jersey #74.

“These first three signings and more that will follow reflect the Club’s commitment to improving the squad depth and overall performance for the 2025/26 season.

“The trio players will travel with the rest of the squad to the Netherlands for a pre-season training camp on Thursday, 3 July.”
