Coastal United secured their spot in the final of the DStv Compact Cup after cruising to a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Dinaledi FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Dinaledi fielded a strong starting lineup, which included SuperSport United midfield duo Teboho Mokoena and Sipho Mbule as well as Mamelodi Sundowns duo Gaston Sirino and Kermit Erasmus.

Meanwhile, Coastal had a formidable partnership in the attack which included Evidence Makgopa and Ashley Du Preez.

Coastal got off to the perfect start as Du Preez handed his side an early lead, finding the back of the net from a Magopa rebound effort.

The home side nearly doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark but the curling effort from the edge of the area sailed just over the crossbar.

Taariq Fielies eventually made it 2-0 in favour of United nine minutes before half time, when he fired his effort into the bottom corner.

Dinaledi were awarded a penalty early in the second half after United was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Sirino stepped up but his spot kick was saved by Oscarine Masuluke.

Coastal put the game past Dinaledi in the 68th minute when 16-year-old Luphumlo Sifumba found the back of the net with a superb strike to make it 3-0.

Dinaledi were then reduced to 10 men in the final 16 minutes when Robyn Johannes received his second yellow card and was sent off as United held on to secure a comfortable victory at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
