Chippa United have officially parted ways with head coach Gavin Hunt after spending just five months with the club.

The 57-year-old coach was suspended by the Chilli Boys in November following their poor start to the 2021-22 DStv Premiership campaign, which saw them secure one win in their first 10 games of the season.

As a result, Kurt Lentjies was appointed as the head coach on an interim basis following Hunt’s suspension, however, the club have since confirmed Hunt’s departure after both parties reached an agreement.

The club have since released the following statement on Hunt’s departure, which reads:

“Chippa United has parted ways with coach Gavin Hunt in a mutual and amicable agreement after five months with the club.”

“We reached an agreement with Gavin Hunt to terminate his contract as Head Coach. Four months settlement was reached between the two parties.

“We extend our gratitude and support to Gavin Hunt and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.”
