Kaizer Chiefs have officially unveiled their new jersey to celebrate the club’s 50th year of existence.

The Glamour Boys launched the jersey in partnership with their technical sponsor, Nike. The new classic all-black, 50th-anniversary jersey, with its gold v-neck and gold band around the sleeves, is a tribute to the club’s formative years and early jerseys worn in the 1970s.

Amakhosi’s first-team players will don the new jersey for the first time when they welcome Highlands Park to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

Chiefs currently lead the way in the league standings by four points after collecting a total of 35 points from 15 matches so far this season.

Amakhosi’s marketing director, Jessica Motaung, said: ‘Turning 50 is a remarkable landmark for us as Kaizer Chiefs. We have worked tirelessly through the years to make the club the institution it is today.

‘The new jersey pays tribute to the club’s strong heritage and rich history. We truly stand on the shoulders of giants, as our chairman always says, and we look forward to celebrating this year and milestone with the club’s supporters.’

Kaizer Chiefs against Highlands Park kicks off at 7:30pm.
