Kaizer Chiefs striker Flavio Silva insists he is not Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo but says he can deliver goals for the club.

Silva joined the club at the start of the season after parting ways with Indonesian outfit Persebaya Surabaya.

The 30-year-old has scored eight goals and registered one assist in 24 appearances across all competitions for Amakhosi this season.

The Guinea-Bissau striker has responded to criticism over his mixed run of form this campaign, but he stated that the team comes first and the goals will follow.

“I’m not 100% satisfied, but in this moment, it is a better situation,” Silva told the club media team.

“If you check the last seasons, the club was struggling to get into the top three, top two, or to win the titles.

“So, it is not enough because the club is big. The minimum we can give to the club is to compete with the top clubs.

“I think in this moment we are not there yet, but we are close, so it is a process. Since the criticism is not personal, it is okay, it means that I’m not playing good, and I can improve.

“Since I’m playing good, I know they are going to greet me. They are going to respect me. For me. It’s okay, no problem, it is part of the game.

“It is always about the team, and I’m always telling my teammates that I can score a lot of goals.

“I’m not Messi. I’m not Ronaldo. I’m not going to dribble three, four players and score a goal.

“I make my movement, and they are going to pass me, I believe them, so it is always about the team,” he concluded.
