Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that S’fiso Hlanti will miss their upcoming Nedbank Cup round of 32 clash against Milford FC on Sunday.

The 34-year-old has been ruled out for the encounter due to suspension after picking up his fourth yellow card during their goalless draw against Royal AM last Sunday.

The Glamour Boys will now be without Hlanti when they welcome the Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit to the FNB Stadium.

Amakhosi have since released the following statement on the matter which reads:

“The last match of the round of 32 in this year’s Nedbank Cup will be a clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit, Milford FC, from Richards Bay in KwaZulu Natal, on Sunday evening at FNB Stadium.”

“Amakhosi have lifted this trophy a record 13 times, having reached the finals 19 times since the early 1970s.

“Coach Cavin Johnson will miss S’fiso Hlanti for this game after the defender picked up his fourth yellow card last Sunday against Royal AM in Pietermaritzburg.

“The coach also has players such as Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edmilson Dove and George Matlou still out injured.

“Johnson confirmed that they do not have extensive information about Milford, who lies 12th on the NFD log, but will give them the necessary respect to avoid the type of upset that has frequently occurred in this cup competition when teams from the Premiership, first, second and third division meet.”
