Chelsea have confirmed the departure of head coach Enzo Maresca after 18 months in charge of the club.
Maresca leaves the club after a poor run of results, which has seen him secure just one win in his last seven Premier League matches.
The Italian tactician has won the UEFA Europa Conference titles and the FIFA Club World Cup trophy during his 18 months in charge of Chelsea.
Maresca leaves the club sitting in fifth place in the Premier League standings with 30 points from 19 matches, 15 points behind leaders Arsenal.
“Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company,” Chelsea released the following statement.
“During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club.
“With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track.
“We wish Enzo well for the future.”
