Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso was disappointed not to have secured maximum points against Stellenbosch FC.

The Brazilians’ 10-match winning run came to an end after playing out to a 1-1 draw against Stellies at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Tsiki Ntsabeleng broke the deadlock for Sundowns in the 26th minute but Tshegofatso Mabasa found the equalising goal in the 85th minute as both sides shared the spoils on Wednesday.

Sundowns remain in second place in the Betway Premiership standings on 57 points from 25 matches, a point behind log leaders Orlando Pirates.

“What happened was that a game completely under control, many occasions to make the second goal we didn’t score and very prudent action from us, give a penalty in the last minute of the game,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV after the match.

“We can only complain about the goals we didn’t score, in the second half was one after the other and when you don’t take your goals of course you get exposed on a mistake and we made a big mistake on the approach.

“We were completely in control, there was no danger on that action and we were reckless very reckless the way we make that approach and we gave away penalty to the opponent, we can only complain on us that we didn’t win.”
