Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso lauded his players following their nominations for the upcoming PSL awards.

The Sundowns mentor is among the nominations for the Coach of the Season award alongside Steve Barker and Jose Riveiro.

The Brazilians have 10 nominations for the awards, with Lucas Ribeiro Costa being nominated for three awards, including Betway Premiership Goal of the Season, Betway Premiership Player’s Player of the Season, and PSL Footballer of the Season.

Cardoso has since expressed his delight with his players as he showered them with praise.

“The nomination is a reflection of our work and the level of determination we showed throughout the season from both the coaching staff and players,” Cardoso said.

“I am happy for all these players for being recognised for their great work.

“I’m very thankful for the opportunities that allowed me to show the capacity to lead a time like ours.

“From that, we have obtained results that have also led to me being recognised not only in the PSL, but also in my birth country.

“Credit needs to be given to the rest of the coaching staff because I didn’t do this alone.”
