Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named his final squad for next month’s international friendly matches against Tanzania and Mozambique.
South Africa are scheduled to face Tanzania in the first friendly set to be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday, June 6.
The South African national team will then take on Mozambique in their second friendly at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on June 10.
The Bafana squad will hold their camp in Johannesburg on Sunday, June 1, before they travel to Polokwane on the very same day.
“These are glory days for South African football,” Broos said.
“The U17s are going to the U17 FIFA World Cup, the U20s are going to the U20 FIFA World Cup.
“We have qualified for the African Nations Championship, Bafana Bafana have qualified for AFCON and Banyana Banyana have good results. So from the bottom to the highest level, everything is good for the moment.
“But I think we are at a crossroads at the moment because now we have to react as a Football Federation.
“If we are happy now and just happy, I can assure you in 2-3 years you will not find what we have now.
“So we have to work very hard now and have a follow-up up not like in the past when there was qualification for AFCON and then after the U20 AFCON or U17 AFCON, the players disappeared and you didn’t see them anymore.”
