Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has made three changes to his 23-man squad to face Sierra Leone and Botswana during the international break.

South Africa are set to meet Sierra Leone in an international friendly at the FNB Stadium on Saturday before taking on Botswana at the same venue on Tuesday afternoon.

The SA coach confirmed he was forced to make three changes with Siyanda Xulu replacing the injured Thibang Phete, while Lyle Foster and Terrence Mashego were also released from the squad due to injury and replaced by Ashley Du Preez and Siyanda Msani, respectively.

“Both Terrence and Lyle presented injuries in camp and the medical team decided that we take every precaution until we could secure scans,” SA team doctor Tshepo Molobi told Safa.

“Upon further investigation we felt that we should release them back to their teams to resume medical treatment as not to risk the player or exacerbate the injuries.

“You can never have an injury-free camp, so there are a few niggles here and there that we are dealing with, but nothing major or serious to date.”
