Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, Anrich Nortje and David Miller are the standout features among the men’s nominees for the 2023 CSA Awards.

The 2023 CSA Awards will be held on July 7 at Vodaworld in Midrand. This will be the first event after the Covid-19 lockdowns that will be held in person.

The event honours the best cricket players from the past season. A number of professional awards, both national and domestic, will be given out at a glitzy ceremony that will be shown on SuperSport.

Bavuma has been nominated in four categories, including SA Men’s Player of the Year, ODI Player of the Year, and Test Player of the Year. He is the captain of the Proteas in both Tests and ODIs.

Markram, Nortje, and Miller are also in the running for the SA Men’s Player of the Year award. Miller, who had another great white-ball season, is in the running for both the T20I and ODI Player of the Year awards.

Markram also had a great comeback season in 2022–23. He is nominated for SA Fans’ Player of the Year, Test Player of the Year, and One-Day International Player of the Year.

Nortje was a big part of the Proteas’ success last season, and the fact that the fast bowler powered into the top 10 of the T20I bowling rankings shows how important he was. The 29-year-old has won in four different groups.

Three young men have been nominated for the International Men’s Newcomer of the Year award: Gerald Coetzee, Tony de Zorzi, and Tristan Stubbs.

Shabnim Ismail, a fast bowler for the Proteas Women’s team, just announced that she is retiring. She was a key part of an unforgettable T20 World Cup campaign and is up for four awards, including SA Women’s Player of the Year.

Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp, and Nonkululeko Mlaba are all in that coveted group.

Kapp has also been nominated for Women’s T20 International Player of the Year and ODI International Player of the Year. Mlaba has been nominated for T20 Player of the Year.
