Orlando Pirates attacker Oswin Appollis remains confident his side will respond strongly to their recent setback, insisting the team is fully focused on regrouping and preparing for their next assignment.

The Buccaneers were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup after suffering a 5-4 loss on penalties at the hands of Casric Stars.

Pirates will now turn their focus back to the Betway Premiership when they take on arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby this weekend.

The Soweto giant will head into this encounter sitting at the top of the Betway Premiership standings, with 38 points from 17 matches.

With a full week on the training ground, Appollis believes the Buccaneers will put in the necessary work to deliver an improved performance in their upcoming match.

“We will definitely bounce back, we have a whole week to prepare for our next game,” said Appollis.

“We will definitely put in the work and focus on the next game.”
