Amajita’s journey in the FIFA U20 World Cup came to an end after they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Colombia in the round of 16 on Wednesday evening.

The South America side opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute when Joel Canchimbo found the net after latching on to a cross from Oscar Perea.

South Africa levelled matters in the 51st minute when Mfundo Vilakazi converted from the spot-kick after they were awarded a penalty.

Colombia restored their lead in the 63rd minute when Perea played a ball through to Neyser Villareal, who turned and shoot to find the back of the net.

The Colombians put the game beyond Amajita in stoppage-time when Villarreal completed his double with a calm finish to send his side into the quarter-finals, where they will take on Spain.
