Despite being a man down, South Africa broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Emile Witbooi slotted home the rebound after he was denied by the post.

The South African side doubled their lead in the 50th minute when Neo Bohloko found the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Bolivia managed to reduce the deficit when they were awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute after a VAR review. Jesús Maraude stepped up and made no mistake from the spot-kick.

Amajimbos put the game beyond Bolivia when Shaun Els grabbed their third goal in stoppage time as South Africa held on for a 3-1 win in Doha.
